On July 4, 2026, America will celebrate the most important milestone in our country's history—250 years of American Independence.

On April 21, 1790 George Washington spent a night at Sagtikos Manor as part of his tour of Long Island. Our specialty tour, “Washington and the Manor,” focuses on the colonial rooms in which Washington spent time. In addition, and in recognition of Presidents’ Day, we will present some insight, using prints in our permanent collection, into the life of George Washington - who in 1790, at the age of 58, became our first President.
